Certified for service with NZ's largest ferry operator
Tickets are on sale now for the world's first electric hydrofoiling tourism experience, as the VS–9 is officially welcomed into the Fullers360 fleet.
Following commercial certification by Maritime New Zealand, our nine-metre catamaran will carry up to 10 passengers on Auckland's Waitematā Harbour, exploring one of New Zealand's most beautiful marine environments.
With fewer than 200 electric hydrofoiling vessels in the world, the vast majority of which are recreational craft, the certification marks a significant moment in the commercialisation of this technology.
The VS–9 has been designed to international DNV standards, with further international certifications in progress.
Fullers360 is the first major ferry operator in the world to incorporate an electric hydrofoiling tourism vessel certified for tourism into its fleet.
Our CEO Eric Laakmann said it was a proud moment for Vessev, and a major milestone for marine sustainability.
"Ten years from now, every major body of water will have electric hydrofoiling vessels operating and delivering entirely new services and experiences. This is just the start.”

Mike Horne, Fullers360's CEO, said the potential of the VS–9 was "simply enormous".
"It opens up an entirely new way of travelling, one that is not only immensely enjoyable but is efficient and plays a key role in reducing emissions. We are excited by the future possibilities of Vessev’s technologies and very much looking forward to the first passenger journeys in the new year."
Tickets are on sale now in advance of the 'electric hydrofoil experience' launch in January 2025. Passengers can also book a private charter.
The experience will start at Auckland’s Viaduct, going on to fly above the water while enjoying panoramic views of Auckland’s iconic skyline, the Harbour Bridge, and the stunning Hauraki Gulf.
